Presented my final strategy of the year on 20 December 2023, it was not a success. In fact, it was the worst strategy presentation I’d had all year. I haven’t had such a challenging session in a while - I felt like I’d hit a brick wall and I couldn’t even answer questions that were being asked with the usual clarity I have. I had brain fog. I was pushing through and had cancelled my leave to get more work done despite being exhausted. Three lessons I learned from my last (and worst) strategy session of the 2023 that I’m taking into 2024:1) Always give yourself time to check-in with your team before presenting anything - ask for more time to get another strategist to give your deck a read if you need to. (It always helps me make sense of my thoughts and answer for my work easily when I do get questions).2) Don’t push through if you’re exhausted. There’s no need to act like a hero - if your brain is tired, take a beat or hand over and let someone who has capacity take it over the line. 3) (This one’s very personal) Just take your leave in December. Don’t try save your days and work through the festive - especially if you’re exhausted. Hope you’re feeling as rested as I am after the break - and that your 2024 planning is also coming together smoothly 🙌🏽

Partner & myself strategise for our work all the time. We made the decision to introduce this into our personal life too for 2024 and it was great fun at the local cafe. Brings ideas and people together to focus on working as hard on ourselves as we do in other areas. Below may be a bit of fun for you to do either on your Todd or with friends/ family. Try it and give yourselves the energy you deserve!1.What were your highlights for 2023? (Use your calendar, camera roll to remind yourself of all the great things that happened)2.What were the hardest aspects of 2023? Break down into:Health/ wellness –Relationships – Career & Money – Fun & Happiness – Spirituality – 3.What did you learn about yourself?Complete a spider diagram or score each of the below categories with how satisfied you are currently Vs where you want to be at the end of 2024. One to ten, one being least, ten being most satisfied.- Health & Fitness- Partner & Love- Family & Friends- Career & Work- Personal Growth & Learning- Money & Finances- Fun & Recreation- Environment- Spirituality 4.What are the things you want to stop doing in 2024 - not bring into 2024?5.What do you want to continue doing that has worked, you have enjoyed etc in 2024?6.What do you want to start doing in 2024?

What will be your good habits for 2024? At this time of the year many of us take time to reflect on the past year and plan for 2024. Some questions that I have been reflecting on:What worked well last year? What did I learn? What do I want to do more of or even do better? And in which fields would I like to improve my skills? I do believe in the slight edge philosophy (Slight Edge - Jeff Olson) which emphasizes the power of small actions over time. The small actions we choose to do, or not to do every day, will ultimately create a great difference in our lives. It's about building good habits, which can be challenging, but always worth it in the end. I have my goals and my plan for 2024 and one of them is to embrace the present moment by remembering everything I am grateful for and also remember to have fun and laugh every day. What will be your good habits this year? Let's make 2024 a year of impact, growth and positivity.

As we wind down 2023 and prepare for the new year, I’ve made a commitment to make 2024 the best year ever!!! That doesn’t happen without a plan, so I’ve started thinking about the goals and actions and how I’ll measure my progress/success. But thinking about it isn’t enough. We need to write the plan out. We do this for our organizations but yet often we don’t do it personally Making the time to plan our personal goals - financial, family, spiritual, health, etc. - keeps us focused. Put personal planning on your calendar! I’ve carved out time during next week’s break to work on my plan. A few strategies I’ll use to develop it are to:▶️ reflect on last year - what went well or not so well the past year. ▶️ review my plan from last year to see where/why I missed the mark▶️ identify the goals (keep them to 3 if possible)▶️ write the goals and actions down ▶️ determine how I’ll measure progress ▶️ review the plan periodically (at least quarterly)▶️ share your plan with someone who can help keep you on trackWill you make time to write your plan out for next year?

I recently stumbled over the wonderful template "The Personal Annual Review" from Sahil Bloom to reflect about 2023 with 7 simple questions (download at https://lnkd.in/ejsADqdt). It got me and put me in a kind of reflection-mode. I wanted more. So, I asked my mind to generate more questions to reflect on. It was a fun-session.Until the end of this year, I will share 7 of the questions my mind came up with (and also the answers). Here is No. 7...❓ Reflecting about 2023 and then looking forward to the end of next year, what do you have to focus on to make 2024 the best year of your life? With that extensive insight about my 2023 hits and losses, learnings and things that made me most fulfilled and grateful, I am deeply convinced that the biggest leverage I have, to increase my energy level and to support unfolding my full potential is to change my daily rhythm and align it with the circadian rhythm of mother nature. In 2023 I had the INTENTION to go to bed earlier and to wake up earlier and to use the morning in the most efficient way…but it was not my focus and I failed most often. In 2024 I will not just intent, but I COMMIT myself to do so (guided by Brian Johnson's incredible advises on the AM and PM bookends as well as by Hal Elrod's great book "The miracle morning - Extended Edition" .🔥). Let’s go! How about you? What do you need to focus on the most to make 2024 the best year of your life? Figure it out, write it down and commit yourself to it and then take radical action. Bring it on! 👊🏻---💡 If you feel inspired, share with others, and follow me Fabian Erlhöfer for more in the future.#focus #personaldevelopment #growth

2024 is here! As we embrace this new year, it's natural to ponder resolutions for a better self. However, did you know that a staggering 92% of people struggle to maintain their New Year's resolutions? This year, let's break that trend with these tips to ensure that YOU are successful in achieving your goals:1.Limit Yourself: Focus on one or two goals instead of overwhelming yourself with multiple resolutions.2.Take Time for Planning: Proper planning is crucial. Think through how you'll accomplish your resolution and anticipate setbacks. 3.Set Specific Goals: Avoid vague resolutions like "exercise more." Be specific, like "exercise 30 minutes daily" or "lose 2 lbs/week." Having measurable goals makes it easier to track progress and feel accomplished.4.Start Small: Avoid setting overly high expectations. Take on smaller, realistic goals that you can build upon. Gradual progress leads to long-term success.5.Find Accountability Partners: Surround yourself with a supportive community that keeps you motivated and accountable. Share your resolutions with friends, family, or consider working with a coach (hello!) who can provide guidance and support.6.Give It Time: Remember, new habits take time to develop. Be patient with yourself and embrace minor setbacks. Stay committed, and eventually, your resolution will become second nature.Ready to turn your resolutions into realities? Let's make 2024 the year of lasting change and personal growth!#NewYearResolutions #SmallGoalsBigResults #PersonalGrowth

Are you frustrated by these?❌ New year, new you❌ Make 2024 your best year❌ Set your SMART goals for 2024❌ Transform yourself / your lifeDoes this feel more like you?✅ new year, same you✅ make 2024 a good enough year✅ give yourself intentions for 2024✅ Make tiny change happenEvery year I’m annoyed at seeing the same messages shared everywhere, they’ve never really resonated with me and I know I’m not the only one. The ‘personal growth’ industry is driven by this narrative that we have to always get better, transform ourselves, be our best. But it’s ok to stay the same, take baby steps and continue doing what’s right for you. It’s ok to have a kind-of direction, vague intentions if that’s enough for you.But don’t get me wrong - that doesn’t mean things will just happen by doing nothing. If you want to bring change in your life, you’re going to have to work for it.That’s why I’m pushing my ‘reflect and plan’ workbook once again. It’ll help you reflect what you’ve achieved and struggled with in the last few months, and it’ll enable you to figure out what you want to get out of the next few months. It can be as vague or as detailed as you want.I’m more of a vague, go-with-the flow person. I don’t like detailed goals. So if you’re like that too, have a look at the workbook - you’ll find it on my blog.Set an hour aside to do that, grab your favourite beverage and/or snacks, get cosy, and start reflecting and writing. If you’d rather be guided through this, join me for a virtual workshop on Wednesday January 31 from 20.00 to 21.00 GMT. I’ll be taking you thought the process and there’ll be time to share your intentions and get inspired by each other. Book your space here https://lnkd.in/eHgS26dqAnd if you’re in East London, I’ll also be using the same framework in my Vision Board workshop - Tuesday February 20 at The Every Space (E17)
